Businesses play an important role in the green transition of Denmark’s passenger car fleet. Through the Green Fleet Award, Bilstatistik Fleet (then Qanto Fleet) and Mobility Denmark have highlighted companies leading the way in replacing their passenger cars with zero-emission vehicles.

The award was presented for the first time in 2022. In both 2023 and 2024, it was presented at Bilens Dag in Bella Center, honouring companies with a particularly high share of zero-emission vehicles in their fleets.

How the greenest fleets are identified

The Green Fleet Award is based on data about companies’ registered passenger cars. Winners are determined by how far companies have actually progressed in the transition, rather than by their ambitions or future targets.

We have provided the data behind the awards in collaboration with Mobility Denmark.

In 2022 and 2023, awards were presented in three categories based on the size of each company’s passenger car fleet: 25–50 cars, 51–100 cars and more than 100 cars.

In 2024, the analysis was expanded to assess fleets at group level rather than by individual CVR numbers. A fourth category was also introduced for fleet owners with at least 500 passenger cars.

- More than 100 passenger cars: Novo Nordisk

2023

GreenMobility was particularly noteworthy at the 2024 awards, winning the new category for large fleet owners. At the time, its fleet consisted of 1,300 passenger cars, all of them zero-emission vehicles.

The winners represent different industries, but they share one thing: they have turned their ambitions for greener transport into concrete changes in their fleets.

Data as a driver of the green transition

Green Fleet Award is about more than recognising the companies that have come the furthest. It also highlights the role that companies’ vehicle choices play in the transition of Denmark’s passenger car fleet.

At Bilstatistik, we work to give companies better data for decisions about their fleets.

With detailed insights into vehicles’ CO2 emissions, fuel consumption and costs, companies can get a clearer picture of their existing fleets and plan their future development.

In this way, data can both make the progress companies have already achieved visible and provide a basis for the next steps in the transition.
